This guiding line evolution gives students a chance to manipulate the litter over mixed terrain.
Taking a ride in the litter as a "patient" definitely provides a new perspective to the entire rescue operation. All students will take a ride during the course.

After a full day of training, students get a chance to enjoy a hot and hearty meal, and enjoy the evening show.
The vertical litter evolution offers a new challenge for students and really demonstrates the importance of good edge tending skills.
Technician level students practice new skills multiple times throughout the course. Students also become comfortable operating near and over the edge while working in a seemingly chaotic setting.
At Peak Rescue, we teach a two rope system for all rescue loads. A main line and a belay line are employed for every evolution in 4th and 5th Class terrain. Edge tenders are also secured with two points of contact.
Peak Rescue instructors demonstrate the various rappelling devices used in the course as Technician students look on. After every lecture, students receive a demonstration before they get a chance to practice.
